Luke 11:13 “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Doubting the goodness of God is nothing short of elevating ourselves higher than Him. Doubting God is equal to us saying that we human beings can love our own children, but God can’t. We will do whatever it takes to provide for our family but God won’t. In this verse, Jesus Christ Himself is saying that if we (evil people) are capable of a little good, then God (Who is the Holiest) is capable of goodness at the least a million times more! And if we ask for anything in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, it shall be given to us (John 13:13-14). The problem with us human beings is that we always underestimate the love of our Father in heaven. This is why we should always look to the cross and be reminded again and again that God so love the world that He gave up His only Son, Jesus Christ! When God has already given up His only Son, how will He not FREELY give us all other things? (Romans 8:32) All we have to do is to ask!
“Ask for The Holy Spirit and our Father in heaven will give it to you.”
Let us not underestimate the goodness of The Lord; we can ask for anything! Anything! Even if we ask for the Holy Spirit (which is, by far, the greatest of the greatest of blessings) to be in us, even then, GOD WILL deliver! All praise to Jesus!!
