Jesus is Salvation

Matthew 16:25 “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.”

In this verse, what Christ meant with “whoever wants to save his life will lose it” is that there are people out there who still believe that they can save their own life and spirit through their own efforts.  They claim to be smart, logical and even scientific and they believe that they are being wise in rejecting the Son of God.

This way of life, according to the words of The Lord, is the life that is headed nowhere to but death.  No man can save their own soul much less others’ soul by human effort alone.  If you notice our human efforts don’t count for anything.  After more than 200 years of boasting about man’s ‘progress’, man still cannot find any real solution to ANY problem!  Be it global warming, AIDS, cancer, psychological illnesses, viral epidemics, bacterial sicknesses, poverty and economic problems, sociological problems of divorce and etc., man still falls prey to the problems of the world.  Never mind about astronomical, geological, meteorological or ‘natural’ problems, we can’t even plug in a hole we dug out from!  You have to admit, human effort and the flesh count for nothing!

Salvation was never meant to be the burden of mankind and this burden was already carried away by One Man, Jesus Christ.

If we cannot save our earthly body, how can we expect to save our spirit?  Salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone (Sola Christos)!  No good works, no good intentions, no good accomplishments can account for the sins we have committed.  Right here and right now, we deserve nothing but death.  So thank God for the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Who died in our place!  Right this moment, if you trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, bless you for you have already found life and life everlasting!
