When The Wicked Plot Against The Righteous

Screenshot_2014-11-14-12-25-23For some reasons, there are just some people out in the world who make it their life’s goal to annoy, irritate, hurt, and even destroy the believers in-Christ.  They put up lies, plan evil schemes, persecute, judge, condemn the children of The Most High.  Are you experiencing one right now?  Is there someone in your life threatening to sue you?  People trying to destroy what you built or trying to steal what is righteously yours?  People bad mouthing and spreading poisonous lies about you?  Scheming wicked people trying to make you pay for what you do not owe?  Well, welcome to the club.  I can assure you that you are not alone on this one.  I’m not sure if it’s motivated out of anger or jealousy or the fear of the unknown or what they don’t understand.  What I do know is that being believers in Christ, these things are bound to happen.  The Lord Jesus Christ said: “No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also” (John 15:20).

Even to this day, we still witness people blaspheming the name which is above all other names – Jesus Christ.

Again, I mentioned in today’s reflection that these attacks are more than schemes of man, they come from spiritual origins.  The devil knows that you are a temple of The Holy Spirit and he is out there to stop you from spreading the truth about Jesus Christ.  In this article, we shall take up a little bit of spiritual warfare.  The devil is attacking us and our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and we should know how to react.  We shall take it up step by step, the Bible way.

The first rule and perhaps the only rule in spiritual warfare is: KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS CHRIST!  We human beings are fleshly carnal creatures and we cannot do anything right and holy without Jesus Christ.  The devil wants us to act and act to solve our problems on our own.  Never forget that it’s the devil’s job is to distract us with stress and problems so we would keep our eyes and mind off Jesus Christ.

Secondly, know that The Lord is in control of things and know that the devil’s attacks have less than zero percent chance of succeeding against you.  The Lord God has promised us that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).  Wicked people can surround us and threaten us with their schemes the whole day but it will not harm us in any significant way.  These senseless things don’t do any harm; in fact, these schemes of wicked people and of the devil are so stupid that they merely amuse The LORD Who is watching over us.

The wicked plot against the righteous

and gnash their teeth at them;

but the Lord laughs at the wicked,

for he knows their day is coming.

(Psalm 37:12-13)

The kings of the earth take their stand

and the rulers gather together

against the LORD

and against his Anointed One.

The One enthroned in heaven laughs;

the Lord scoffs at them.

(Psalm 2:2,4)

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)  You see, wicked people can connive and scheme against the people of God their whole lives, but we can rest assured that The One enthroned in heaven is laughing and scoffing at them.  Their plans are as good as plain stupid.
