Our True Worth in Christ

“What is man that You are mindful of him?”
-king David to God (Psalm 8:4)

Tons of people voice out that they are an accident being in this world.  Then come the stories that their parents never really wanted them; that they were brought to this world not from love but out of mere chance.

I usually hear this from people who were adopted by distant relatives or even by total strangers as a child.  It is truly a sad and a painful thought; for how can trust ever be formed when my very own parents do not want me?  When the actual people who formed me rejected me? The pain and the anger that is carried can bring anyone down for their entire life.

I am here to declare that whoever you are, wherever you are from, or whatever you think you have done; that you are still and will always be the beloved child of our Father in Heaven.  Even in Psychology alone, we do NOT believe in accidents; nothing happens by chance but events occur by design.  Everything is preceded by something (or someone) that I cannot help but refute all these “I am an accident” thoughts.  No, especially in the Kingdom of God, there are completely no accidents.   And you, my friend, were created for a reason, and you are loved for a great reason.

Going back to the three concerns mentioned: who I am, where I’m from, and what I did; I shall address them in sequence to show the truth right from the word of God.

#1.  God is no respecter of persons

Rich Guy Jesus

“For there is no respect of persons with God.”
-Romans 2:11

God has born, bred, and used people from different walks of life.  God used shepherds, tax collectors (corrupt criminals), fishermen, prostitutes, murderers, kings, boys, girls, teachers, Pharisees, the poor, the rich, military men, to further His cause in The Kingdom.  God has healed them all, God has blessed them all, and He has used all kinds of people for their good and for our good.  God has loved them all and there is completely no reason why we are beyond this rule.  As long as you have Jesus Christ, it doesn’t really matter who you are or which family name you carry.  Whether you were adopted or even a candidate for abortion, God doesn’t care!  Still He sent His One and only Son for you and me.

#2.  God blesses you wherever you are

“Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said,
The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys,
therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand,
and ye shall know that I am the LORD.”

-1 Kings 20:28

In the story of the Israelites, God has showed them the truth that He is God of all by winning their battles regardless of ‘where they are’.  If your battle is in the mountains; well, He is God of the mountains. When you are in the valley;  He is also God of the valleys.  Whether you come from the north, the south, the east or west, He reigns supreme and you, believer of Christ, are part of God’s Kingdom.  Whether you work in a high floor office or you work in the slums, whether you serve alcohol in a pub or in a flying plane, God is still the God of all and He will always be there for you.

#3.  God loves you no matter what you did

Jesus died for all

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

-Romans 5:8

Several times in Christian Counselling, you get to meet people who believe that they are the worst sinners in the planet.  This becomes a dangerous thought when the idea is used to disqualify themselves from drawing near to God.  They feel that they are too dirty to approach God who is the embodiment of Holiness.  They are correct with one thing, that we are all sinners and that we are all dirty but what they do not see is that the only way we can be clean and renewed is by drawing near to God.  We have to know that if Jesus Christ did not die for us that we will be dead from the consequences of our sins. And I see that it is simply logical to save the people when they are in trouble and not after the people have conquered their problems.  So, whatever it is you believe that you have done, be it a ‘big sin’ or an ‘unforgivable sin’, Jesus Christ, without bargaining, without any questions already laid down His life as ransom for our sin’s payment.  It doesn’t really matter whether you were Abraham who lied or you were Saul who killed Christians.  If you believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour, then the price of your sins have been placed in His account which therefore have already been paid.

With these 3 truths, you can rest being constantly assured that you are loved by God.  When all of us sold our souls away, Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price to buy them all back – no matter who we are, where we were from, or no matter what we have done in our life.

By the love of God and the blood of Jesus Christ, you are more precious than you will ever know and it is for the best that we live with this thought continuously in our minds.
