God’s Faithful Protection

steps to JesusYou enlarge my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped. (2 Samuel 22:37)

                The Lord is The ever-faithful God.  Out of His love He took care of Abraham, He took care of Moses, He took care of David, Elijah and He took care of all the others.  Today He IS here and He is eternally taking care of us.  As what Psalm 23 would always remind us:

The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,

he leads me beside quiet waters,

(Psalm 23:1-2, NIV)

The Lord influences things around us to work for our good.  Even without us knowing, God enlarges the steps beneath us to make sure we don’t stumble.  Have a look at 2010, could we have possibly survived that year on our own?  Some say 2010 was the best year, some say it’s their worst.  If it was the best, then worship God for blessing you with it.  If it was the worst, then praise the Lord for rescuing you from your troubles.  Did He not promise that no weapons formed against you shall prosper? (Isaiah 54:16)  Aren’t you alive and well today?

A fun and meaningful way to live life is for us to be conscious of God’s grace as often as we can.  Whether we are saved in the middle of trouble or whether we are prevented from meeting trouble, we acknowledge that because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, we are made sons and daughters of The Most High.  And for those who dwell in Christ Jesus, God promised us supernatural protection:

For he will command his angels concerning you

to guard you in all your ways;

they will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

-Psalm 91:11-12

So my friend, looking back at 2010, the accident that was supposed to hurt you, the virus that was supposed to make you and your family sick, the venomous attacks of people who went against you, any physical or psycho-spiritual pain that the world may throw at you then; all fell flat because The Lord was protecting you.

When we are rested in Jesus Christ, God enlarges our steps to protect us from the biggest problems in life to the smallest ones.  He won’t even allow us to trip from a stone.  For this week (and the rest of our lives), we become more and more conscious of Christ and we receive all His benefits of protection on us!
