Jesus Conquers, We Rest

3Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.”

I’ve checked what it means to be ‘steadfast’ and it’s no surprise that ‘steadfast’ in Hebrew (Strong’s concordance 5564; samak) means to lean and to be at rest.  Lean on what you may ask?  Let us lean on the finished work of Jesus Christ!  Rest and stop trying and sweating to gain our salvation; for it is given to us freely through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross!  Don’t worry about workplace stress, stress at home and within the family or even stress from your health; fighting stress will not give you peace!  Lean on the cross of Jesus and He will give you that perfect peace which you have been longing for.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” –John 16:33

Let us rest on the truth that The Son of God died for our sins because He loves us!  I know we’ve been saying this time and time again, but the more this revelation sinks in our hearts, the more we will find that perfect peace inside us.  This peace which we received from God comes from the revelation of what His Son did for us all; and this is what God considers as ‘trusting in Him.’

Trust in God, rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ and receive the peace that He died to give you.
