Our Refuge and Strength

Psalm 121:1-2
“[A song of ascents.] I lift up my eyes to the hills” where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

When the time comes when we are really in need of help, who do we really call upon?  Do you call on your family or your friends who are as helpless as you?  Thank God for Jesus Christ; for His death made us sons and daughters of The Most High God, the Maker of heaven and earth!  The cross of Jesus Christ ‘bridged’ the gap we had between us as sinners and God as the Holiest Being in and beyond creation.  Yes, we were born with our very blood tainted with sin; that is why Jesus Christ shed His own blood to account for our sinful nature and sinful actions.  That’s why He who knew no sin (2 Corinthians 5:21) had to hang on the cross and become The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

Right now when you call on God, don’t forget that you are talking to your heavenly Father who loves you above all (John 3:16) and who will never ever abandon you (Hebrews 13:5).  Call on Him who cares for you, call on Him who died for you, call on Him who has the power to save you!

Lord, Jesus Christ, what can we be without You?
