The Highest Calling of Our Lives

Acts 20:24 “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.”

I love this verse, for it reminds me the centrality of Jesus Christ.  The only reason why the universe exist, why heaven and earth exist together with all the angels and man is for one reason: for the glory of The Lord Jesus Christ (Col 1:16).  This is the very meaning of our lives and existence.  Some of us have been blessedly living in-Christ for a long time now that we forget how it is to live a Christ-less existence: full of uncertainty, full of fear, full of loneliness, full of hopelessness and emptiness. So how do we glorify God as we were created to do?  We testify God’s grace!  We share to a world of hopelessness that Jesus Christ, out of His love, came down from heaven, shed His blood on the cross and saved us from our sins! Because of this, there is nothing waiting for us in the future but Salvation!  This is the good news.  This is the grace of God. So open your mouths and proclaim what Jesus Christ has done. This is how we consider our lives worth living for!
