The verse never said that God is responsible for our sufferings. For The LORD to give sufferings to man is to insult the death and sacrifice of His only beloved Son, Jesus Christ; who already suffered to pay the price for all our sins. Truth is we who are in Christ do not deserve to be punished anymore. Jesus Christ has finished a perfectly perfect job in redeeming us from our sin, making the curses and sufferings void and powerless (1 Peter 3:18).
Today, we still suffer because we still live in a fallen world that is cursed. The good news is that we are not the ones who are cursed but the Christ-less world around us. Always remember that once you have Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour that you already belong to heaven. You are no longer of this world; you are of Jesus Christ (John 17:14).
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Isaiah 54:17
Having in mind that Christ is in us, we are assured that our worldly ‘sufferings’ will not last nor will it be successful in destroying us. Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, will NEVER allow that to happen. Instead, the sufferings and trials that we are going through will be used by The Lord for our good. I am not saying that suffering is good, I am simply saying that with Jesus inside us that everything will be good. I love Paul’s attitude towards suffering: Since we have nothing but good things to look forward to, we rejoice! Right now if your health is suffering, your finances are suffering, your relationships are suffering – REJOICE! For you have a Saviour that NEVER fails! He WILL turn your greatest loss to your greatest blessing!
