The image above was taken from this animated film: Kpop Demon Hunters. As a dad of a seven-year-old, I was shocked about certain themes that casually popped up, knowing that they are subliminally influencing every viewers minds (not just the kids, although it would be especially salient to the kid’s unfiltered undefended minds). What you see in the image on top is a scene in the film where the audience of the Kpop group Huntrix were literally offering their souls to the singers (you see those bright blue lines coming out from the people’s hearts? These are their souls travelling to empower the singers on stage). Among all the themes tackled in this film, I fully agreed with one where it was explained earlier in the plot that: THE BATTLE IS FOR THE MINDS OF PEOPLE.
We are in so much fear nowadays (because of the state of the world and the role of propaganda) that people will worship anything just to feel sheltered. We will simply fall for anything posing as a saviour as if looking for a quick fix to our current state of uncertainty: Investment scams, health scams, sex scams, and yes, even worshipping music bands. We are pushed to the most deflated state that we are desperate for a cure and a way out.
The human race is also fallen in a state of hopelessness that we succumb to the temptations of passivity.
Instead of “I want to be” or “I want to do this”, our motivation today becomes “I want to see…” (doom scrolling, anyone?) And so, we have more and more people drowning in computer screen addictions. The lure of peering into the experiences of others ‘In Real Life’ becomes irresistible as we have slipped to vicariously enjoying the pleasures of others without the realities of the connected risks.
The Enemy is Successful in Disarming Us
These are all characteristics of disempowerment. It is close to saying that the people of God have been emasculated by the world into being pacifists; becoming complicit in the world’s ways, wherein which we were instructed not to be conformed to or to be in league with.
And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2
Can we truly blame the generation today? From the innocent well-meaning students in school to the Hikikomori who just want to be left alone, we are all exposed to the world’s system. I, for one, am not hesitant to call it the Beast System. Just have a look at the world systems that we’re in. Look at the movies and the music played en masse, do not tell me that they’re not against The Lord Jesus Christ and His teachings? Cultural shifts have been rocking society for decades all in the name of independence from God; or worse, all in protest against God whom they claim not to exist.
You are not alone in this battle
As much as there are brothers and sisters pulled and beaten down, the Kingdom has tons of servants who have stretched their hands in aid of others.
Churches have these great pastors who will lead and encourage the flock.
Neglected areas have missionaries pushing on the front lines. Schools have teachers, orphanages have nurses, homes have carers. In these last days, the body of Christ has never been busier as it is attacked.
In the clinic, we have Christian counsellors, these are clinicians who provide educational (informational), relational, learning and growth (developmental) support to God’s people.
In Christian Counselling, our mandate is to empower people, that is, to guide people traverse from their lost and deflated state of sickness, inefficiency, and fear, to health, wholeness, and meaningful productivity in Christ.

Because the answers are found in you (in your revelations and insights) and the will to exercise the choices to actions are yours. True empowerment leaves one dependent only to The Lord Jesus as you operate as a vessel independent of this world, ready to lend a hand to others.
Christian Counselling is all about breaking cycles of curses, freeing oneself from enslaving lies and systems. It is about facilitating your journey from an aimless soul to living out your true callings of a child of Christ.
