Psalm 56:4 “In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?”
King David is a man with a lot of enemies. The Bible shows, a lot are angry with the people of God, especially with the greatest king of Israel. In this Psalm, David sings to The Lord and declares that no one can succeed against those who come against God’s anointed. In times of trouble and in times of trial, ask the question: “what can mortal men do to me?” People can talk big, intimidate and even threaten you; but what power do they have over our Saviour Who is in us? Christ even stated: “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul” (Matthew 10:30). Know this for a fact: If you have Jesus as Lord and Saviour, He WILL make a way out of your dire situation. If you are in Christ, there is nothing left waiting for you in the future but good things! (Psalm 23:6) Knowing this revelation, there is nothing left for us to do but to praise God and trust God. After all, if God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
