The Secrets of Luke 3

302748_373832142704840_431467714_nIt is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2

The Bible is full of secrets locked inside for the glory of His children to search for.  Like what Solomon’s proverb says, it is our great pleasure to partake of the holy secrets of our Father in heaven.  I am writing this article for several reasons: first, is to show people that The Bible is God breathed.  It is a book that contains the truth from God Himself.  It contains no error and no accidents.  Second, is to show people how much The Father loves His Son.  If one studies the Bible, they would see Jesus and only Jesus written all over it.  I believe it’s the Father’s proclamation to how proud He is with His Son.  Lastly (and the least reason), I’ve discovered some new internet tools on Hebrew translations and I simply want to test them out.

So what does our heavenly Father have to say to us hidden in Luke 3?  Read on and find out.

For this article, I am going to share to you the secret message that is locked inside the verses from Jesus’ genealogy in Luke 3 verses 36-38.

….the son of Noah, the son of Lamech,

the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch,

the son of Jared, the son of Mahalalel,

the son of Kenan, the son of Enosh,

the son of Seth, the son of Adam,

the son of God.

Luke 3:36-38

I deliberately placed the names in bold because these are the very words where God’s message is locked in.  Now all we have to do is to arrange these names in chronological order from Adam to Noah (The first man to the last antediluvian patriarch) and extract the Hebrew meanings of the names.  I’m well aware that Luke is a New Testament book (written in Greek) but the names that we are dealing with here are ‘Old Testament names’; therefore, we translate from the original words – Hebrew.

The table below would summarize what we wanted to do:

Name Hebraic Meaning
ADAM Man (Mankind)
SETH appointed (Placed)
ENOCH mortal (Sick)
CAINAN sorrow
MAHALALEL Glory of God
JARED descended
ENOCH Discipline (Initiate/Teach)
METHUSELAH His death will bring
LAMECH powerful
NOAH rest

All we have to do now is place all the pieces together in their original order:

Man appointed mortal sorrow.  Glory of God descended discipline.  His death will bring powerful rest.

In plain English this is what God is saying:

Man brought sin and is suffering.  The Glory of God (we all know who He is) came down from heaven to teach His ways and His death will bring eternal rest to all.

This whole “secret” actually appears in Romans 5:17:

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

You see, the Bible is consistent all throughout, from Genesis to Revelations, from The Gospels to the letters of Paul.  Whether you read superficially, study deep Hebrew or even throw in Bible codes.  It all speaks of one name and one sacrifice:

Jesus Christ died on the cross to save us from sin.

Read your Bibles and discover more of these loving messages and good news from our heavenly Father.

This idea was actually taken from Pastor Joseph Prince of New Creation Church.  He shared this in one of his sermons.  I just “didn’t believe him” so I checked it out for myself.  (Cost me more than a month of research. So next time, I think I’ll just believe him)
