Listen to The Spirit Not the Flesh

2ee07e4456e87b1f66a58d88508ec89f1 Corinthians 2:14 “The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

Who is the man without the spirit?  They are the people who dwell in the world of flesh; a world where man is glorified and where the creature and its works are worshipped.  They are people who do not accept the good news about the Son of God – Jesus Christ.  They believe that God is merely an invention of man, a fantasy created by weaker minds who cannot cope with the world’s demands.  They are the proud, the self-righteous and the arrogant who believe that their works are testament to man’s greatness.

The Pharisees in Jesus’ days were too proud of themselves that they failed to see who Jesus really was.

Incidentally, the spiritless men are also the ones who are empty deep inside and are suffering from meaninglessness.  They walk around the world looking for answers, exploiting and hurting others (and sometimes even themselves) in order to make themselves feel better and forget their existential misery.  Why can’t they find their true meaning in life?  Why can’t they find their true happiness?  The Bible gives a direct answer to this:  Because these things come from the Spirit of God and they are spiritually discerned.  It is unfortunate that people who are focused on creation doesn’t have time to commune with the Creator.

It is no small matter when the Word of God says: “Blessed are those who trusts in the Lord!”  Because once you have Jesus Christ in your life, ALL the blessings of happiness, peace and the rest will come to you! (Matthew 6:33)  It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have done in your life.  The world of flesh means nothing in God’s Kingdom.  The only thing that matters is: do you have Jesus Christ?

The Word of God assured us that trusting in The Lord (and not the arm of flesh) is the wisest and the greatest thing we could ever do that He mentioned it over and over again!  I’ve listed some below; much to my good pleasure (there are a lot more!).

“But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in him. (Jeremiah 17:7)

Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the LORD his God, (Psalm 146:5)

Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8)

Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (Psalm 2:12)

Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods. (Psalm 40:4)

O LORD Almighty,
blessed is the man who trusts in you. (Psalm 84:12)

Blessed are the people of whom this is true;
blessed are the people whose God is the LORD. (Psalm 144:15)

So, if you have Jesus Christ, they you truly are a blessed blessed person!  If you haven’t accepted Jesus and you want to have Jesus Christ in your life, ask a Christian friend and come visit a church. We pray that your eyes be opened to the Man, Jesus Christ.

Be Blessed!
