All The Reason to Rejoice!

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

This verse will not hold much meaning to anyone unless they have a revelation of what Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross.  We cannot just approach any person out there and keep telling them that they should ‘love God’ and give ‘their everything’ to Jesus.  Without the revelation of the cross and the help of the Holy Spirit, all our fleshly attempts to ‘love God’ will turn to frustrations, self-condemnation, anger and resentment.

The whole Bible is all about Jesus Christ and what He has done for us sinners.  It contains the story of our rebellion to God and God’s Salvation for us.  That’s why it’s called the good news!  Jesus Christ has conquered all evil and all sin and all curses!  We have fallen so much from God that all of us should be rotting in hell right now.  But thank God for His Son, Jesus Christ! The Saviour of the world, who went up the cross and paid for all our sins!

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (Romans 5:19)

Today, we are righteous, worthy and holy in the eyes of God.  Redeemed slaves of sin, we became sons and daughters of the Most High; from being wretched rebels and sinners, we are transformed as kings and priests of no one less than the Creator of the universe.  Too good to be true? Yes it is too good, but it is also all too true.  And it is all because of One man, Jesus Christ and what He had done on the cross! How not to praise His Holy name?
