GOD DOES NOT LIE

0

This is a rundown of the revelations handed down to me throughout the weeks more than it is an article brought about by organized knowledge and research.  Most of the contents below exhibit my futile attempts to put to words what The Lord has impressed in my spirit.  As you read along, you will notice that this article is a collection of diverse verses that point to one integral message:  That The LORD’s words are true.  I’ve been trying for weeks to write down my personal revelations on this work, but now I believe that The LORD wants you to discover your very own revelations directly from Him.  I do hope you have your Bibles with you to provide you with the full context of the verses that are written below.

The Word of God

The Word of God is the most important source of knowledge and wisdom.  A good number of people already know this and have benefitted much from being with God and His word.  It was Theodore Roosevelt who once said that: “A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education.”  There are at least two major reasons for this.  One is that the Bible contains the words of the wisest and most powerful Being in the universe: Our Creator-God.  Second, the Bible is from Someone who cannot tell lies.  Even the Psalmists cannot help but write songs of praises about God and His word:

All your words are true;

all your righteous laws are eternal.

(Psalm 119:160)

Rest assured whatever God says through His spoken word (preserved in Scripture), IT IS going to happen.  Below is an actual proclamation of God Himself regarding His spoken word:

Isaiah 55:10-11

As the rain and the snow

come down from heaven,

and do not return to it

without watering the earth

and making it bud and flourish,

so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

so is my word that goes out from my mouth:

It will not return to me empty,

but will accomplish what I desire

and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

The Bible is God breathed (2 Timothy 3:16) and God will not waste his Holy Breath, the very breath that gave life to man, on telling lies.  It is simply not His style.  The word that comes out of His mouth is spirit, it is living and active (Hebrews 4:12).  Whatever the Lord God says, it shall come to pass.

God has no reason to lie

God hates lying:

Lying lips are an abomination to The LORD. –Proverbs 12:22

People only lie because they fear that the truth can hurt them (just ask Abraham and Isaac). Lying is a sign that one fears the future and that one is not confident about what will happen should the truth be told.  The Almighty and All Powerful God has absolutely no reason to fear anyone or anything.  He says what is and what is not (Matthew 5:37).  What can man do to Him, who created the heavens and the earth, should man get angry at him?

God is not a man, that he should lie,

nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.

Does he speak and then not act?

Does he promise and not fulfill?

–Numbers 23:19

Lying is a cheap trick of the enemy to fool the people of God.  It is never used by God (Titus 1:2).  In fact, in the Bible, lying is always associated with the devil (John 8:44).  The LORD God is too Holy to lie.  Not only does He not lie; but rather, lying is an impossibility for God.  It is simply something that is not even thinkable for Him to do.

It is impossible for God to lie. –Hebrews 6:18

The King of Righteousness is Never Wrong

He is The God of Truth:

He is the Rock, his works are perfect,

and all his ways are just.

A faithful God who does no wrong,

upright and just is he.

-Deuteronomy 32:4

He is The God who calls things that are not as though they were (Romans 4:17).  Another way of understanding this verse about the nature of God is rephrasing it in a simpler way.  What it simply means is that whatever God says, it will be (or it already is).  God calls things into being and whatever that comes out of His mouth, the whole of creation MUST and WILL obey.  So, when God was telling Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that He will give them the lands, it was already theirs.  When God told Abraham that he’s going to be a father of many nations, he already was.  When God told Moses and Joshua that their enemies will fall, their enemies were already defeated.  When God says that He’s going to send a Saviour to save us, we, right this moment are already saved.

The King of Righteousness can never be wrong.  As what Paul said: “Let God be true and every man a liar” (Romans 3:4).  In total darkness, when God said “Let there be light!” Light came and the darkness was proven to be at the wrong.  When the daughter of Jairus died, Jesus Christ said that she is only sleeping (Mark 5:39).  No matter how much people laughed at Him then, Jesus was still proven to be right; because the girl whom people call ‘dead’, sat up and ate.

Do you know that right this very moment, Jesus Christ calls you blessed?  And God calls you clean?  Do you actually think that Jesus, before He went up to the cross, was only teasing us for fun when He said that He’s going to prepare a place for us in heaven?  Would you tell lies to someone that you’re about to die for?

THE WORD OF GOD HAS NEVER FAILED

The whole Bible is a collection of testimonies on the righteousness of God.  Below are some of my favorite scriptures that give us a glimpse that whatever God says WILL come to pass:

Not one of all the LORD’s good promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled. –Joshua 21:45

Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses. -1Kings 8:56

You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed. – Joshua 23:14

I love it when the writers kept on saying “NOT ONE HAS FAILED.”

Now you know Who is speaking to you through the Bible, it’s time we open the world’s all-time best seller and start knowing the love of The One who can never lie and start claiming His promises!  Because of Who’s the One talking, rest assured: NOT ONE OF HIS WORD WILL FAIL.
